Paul Casey - Director

Paul has been an educator and arranger in southern California for over 12 years and is in his sixth year of being an adjudicator for the American Drumline Association (ADLA) and the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA). His teaching credits include Poway HS. Mt. Carmel HS, Scripps Ranch HS, Vista HS, Rancho Bernardo HS, San Diego Alliance Drum & Bugle Corps, and Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps. He attended Pepperdine University for Music Education, and San Diego State University as an Information and Decision Systems major. Paul is a Pearl/ Adams, Innovative Percussion, and Remo Artist/ Educator

Hugo Ramirez - Caption Head/ Tenor Technician

Hugo is in his 9th year as a percussion educator in San Diego. His teaching credits include Mira Mesa HS, Grossmont HS, Mt. Miguel HS, and the San Diego Alliance Drum & Bugle Corps. Hugo performed with the Earthquake Drum & Bugle Corps, Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, and San Diego State Winter Drumline. Hugo has a degree in computer information science and currently manages two Nick Rail Music locations in San Diego.

Greg Karlo - Snare Technician

Greg has been teaching for many years in the Grossmont Unified High School District as well as serving as the snare technician for the San Diego Alliance Drum & Bugle Corps for 4 years. Greg marched with the Earthquake Drum & Bugle Corps (1996—1998) and the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps where he studied with Paul Rennick and Jeff Queen. You can also see Greg performing with the San Diego based bands Safety Orange and The Cured.

Dan Huss - Bass Technician/Visual Technician

Dan performed with Alternative for two years where he served as bass drum section leader. Prior to Alt, Dan performed with the San Diego Alliance drum & Bugle Corps for 4 years and aged-out with Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps in 2005. Dan has been teaching around San Diego county for the past 6 years and his teaching credits include Mt. Carmel HS, Poway HS, Scripps Ranch HS, El Capitan HS, Santana HS, and Monte Vista HS. Dan holds a degree in marketing from San Diego State University and is currently completing a masters program in business.

Doug Crooks - Front Ensemble Technician

Doug has years of drum corps and indoor percussion performance experience throughout the United States and Canada. His performance credits include Spirit Performing Youth Ensemble and Kiwanis Kavaliers. Besides currently serving as Asst. Band Director for Poway HS, Doug has instructed Mt. Carmel HS, Grossmont HS, and other various BOA, WGI and DCI units.

Richard Legerrette - Front Ensemble Technician

Brandon Kovacic - Cymbal Technician

Brandon has an extensive background in cymbal expertise, performance and instruction. His teaching credits include the Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps and currently serves as cymbal clinician at UCLA.

Mike Benge - Visual Technician

Mike is a local musician and has many professional performance credits to his name. He is a member of the band B-Side Players and has his own salsa band called Trece de la Suerte. Mike is also an educator in Southern California and his teaching credits include Mt. Carmel HS, Scripps Ranch HS, Newbury Park HS, Westlake HS, Moorpark HS and the San Diego Alliance Drum & Bugle Corps.

Kevin Harrell - Visual Technician

David Henkel - Program Consultant

David is a well known Marching Percussion Clinician and Arranger in Southern California and has served as a Judge and Clinician for the Southern California Percussion Alliance, the American Drum Line Association, and the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association. He is also a former founder/partner of Xymox Percussion and a Sabian Artist. David has been a member of PAS for over 10 years and has served on the 1997 PASIC Marching Percussion Committee. David's teaching history includes Mt. Carmel HS, Capistrano Valley HS, Savanna HS, Los Altos HS, San Diego State Winter Drumline, and is serving as Percussion Caption Head for the Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps.
